Outside of my academic and professional careers, one of my passions is lifting in Olympic-style Weightlifting competitions. Right out of high school I pursued my Olympic dream and delayed my university studies. The hard work ethic I learned from training had to be utilized in every aspect of my life, rather than just training and academics. I became financially responsible by living alone and working full-time to reach my goals.

 

 

 

     As a benefit to my dedication in training, I was able to travel the United States and compete at the National level where I qualified for several international competitions to compete for Team USA. I also lived in Michigan, California, Colorado and North Carolina, before finally returning to my home state of Texas. Traveling the world and moving around the country helped me learn to diversify and adapt to changes.
